What is intuition?
Intuition is a way of knowing the truth that requires empathy, imagination, attention to detail, and insight. People with well-developed intuition are able to not only understand when they are being tricked or their real emotions are being hidden from them, but also to anticipate events just by subtle signs.
There is an opinion that intuition is something supernatural, but this is not true at all. Intuition is developed in people who are attentive to details, for example: to non-verbal gestures of the interlocutor, to the tone of their speech, the surrounding sounds and much more.
Nonverbal gestures
Body language predates speech, and all animals have it. If it was necessary to inform about something, a person simply pointed their finger at the desired object or event. To show distrust, they would stand in a tense posture, wrinkle their forehead and nose.
These gestures are universal, they are understood immediately and by everyone. Passed on in the genes from more distant ancestors, they have survived even now, when a person is fully using verbal communication: speech, writing.
Types of nonverbal means of communication
Invented gestures
In addition to unconscious, people invented a new nonverbal system. So, employees of special forces transmit important information and coordinate their actions in complete silence, with only gestures. A pilot, having made sure that the airplane and equipment are in good working order, shows their thumb: "everything is in order, I can take off". A person is at a rock concert and makes the famous gesture because they really like this music.
Unconscious gestures
This is the same body language that has been preserved in us since ancient times. When communicating with an interesting interlocutor, we tend to point the toes of our feet in their direction. When we are under moral pressure, we put our palms forward - as if putting a barrier between ourselves and the interlocutor, protecting ourselves.
The connection between intuition and non-verbal means of communication
People who have well-developed intuition are considered almost magicians. In fact, they just know how to "listen" to the unconscious gestures of people, unusual events: a different tone of voice, silence, and many other things are important, but not always remarkable signs of change.
Everyone can develop intuition, you just need to pay more attention to details and listen to your inner voice more often. Each of us has unconscious ways of communicating, which means that everyone can recognize the same in another person.
