Losenkov's questionnaire for analyzing impulsivity
Each person has a unique set of innate characteristics that can manifest themselves regardless of their upbringing. These characteristics play a key role in shaping an individual's personality and character. Among other things, certain character traits, including impulsivity, can be corrected.
Impulsiveness characterizes the tendency of a person to commit hasty actions without taking into account the possible consequences. This quality is especially pronounced in preschoolers and adolescents, while in adulthood people are usually able to control such impulses.
This questionnaire is designed to help you assess your tendency to act impulsively. By answering a series of simple questions, you will learn more about your temperament, which will help you build effective relationships with others and more successfully achieve your goals.
The concepts of impulsiveness and sincerity
It is important to realize that impulsiveness and sincerity are not the same thing. Impetuosity describes the ability to perform spontaneous actions that may not conform to generally accepted norms of behavior and lead to undesirable consequences for both the person and his environment. Sincerity, on the other hand, implies the expression of genuine feelings and intentions within acceptable social norms.
Differences between impulsivity and spontaneity
It is necessary to distinguish between impulsiveness and spontaneity, as these concepts have different essence. Impulsivity is associated with ill-considered, often unhealthy behavior, while spontaneity reflects the ability to act in accordance with internal motives, not relying solely on social norms. A spontaneous person is not someone who succumbs to instant emotions, but someone who can suddenly decide to change the usual order of things, for example, to go on a trip to the mountains instead of the traditional vacation at the sea.
Target audience of the test
Our methodology, based on Losenkov's research, is aimed at adults; its questions are not adapted for teenagers. This questionnaire is quite simple and will not take long to complete, making it ideal for group work.
Interpretation of results
The results of the questionnaire help determine high, medium, or low levels of impulsivity.
High level
Such people often cannot keep their emotional outbursts under control, they usually do not have clearly defined life goals and aspirations. Prone to constant exploration, starting something new but not following through. Interaction with impulsive people can be difficult because of their tendency to unexpected emotional reactions, although they are able to quickly cool down and repent of their behavior.
People with high levels of impulsivity are advised to learn to control their emotions by pausing to reflect before taking a step or expressing an opinion.

Medium level
People with medium level of impulsivity have more emotional stability as compared to the above-mentioned. They are able to set goals and achieve them, although they may sometimes lose interest in what they have started. They are quite balanced individuals who can afford to show emotions in certain situations.
Low level
People with a low level of impulsiveness are characterized by calmness and restraint, have clear life plans and goals. They gradually move towards their goals and successfully achieve them.
