Indigenous Peoples

Indigenous peoples – are the original inhabitants of a particular territory, whose traditional life has been preserved over a long period of time and partly corresponds to the way of life and culture of their ancient ancestors. The term «Indigenous peoples» comes from the Latin phrase "ab origine," which translates as «from the beginning», and this emphasizes the ancient nature of their historical connection with that area.

They are bearers of rich cultural traditions passed down from generation to generation. Their way of life has been preserved in many aspects without significant changes, reflecting their deep attachment to traditions and respect for nature.

Indigenous peoples have their own unique customs, languages, religious beliefs, and systems of social organization, making their cultures and communities unique and valuable parts of the world’s cultural diversity. The effort to preserve their identity and cultural heritage in the modern world is one of the key aspects of their existence.
