Character accentuation

Character accentuation is a condition in which certain character traits or combinations of traits are so pronounced that they take on particular significance and may influence a person's behavior and interactions with others.

Character accentuation represents an extreme variant of normal psychological variability and borders on personality pathology. However, it is important to note that character accentuation does not necessarily indicate pathology or a mental disorder. It simply means that some character traits are more pronounced in a person than in most people and may influence the person's behavior and interactions.

Examples of character accentuation may include strongly pronounced traits such as anxiety, emotional lability, dependence on others' approval, a drive for leadership, and others. It is important to remember that character accentuation is not necessarily pathological and may occur in healthy people.
