Ahasuerus syndrome
Ahasuerus syndrome is a condition in which a person develops physical and psychological dependence on alcohol or drugs. People with this syndrome may wander endlessly among different medical facilities to obtain the drugs they seek. Sometimes they feign symptoms of illness or even injure themselves to persuade doctors or other medical staff to give them access to drugs or alcohol. This syndrome is a serious problem and requires specialized intervention and treatment.
