Altruism

Altruism is a form of social behavior in which a person acts in the interests of other people. It is an expression of care, compassion, and a willingness to help others without expecting the favor to be returned. Altruism can be expressed in various situations and forms, including helping loved ones, volunteering, philanthropy, helping strangers in emergency situations, and so on. Altruistic behavior can be motivated by various factors, including personal beliefs, religious values, emotional impulses, and social norms.

It is important to note that altruism does not necessarily mean the complete absence of benefit for the person who helps. A person may experience satisfaction, a sense of pride, or moral gratification from doing a good deed. Nevertheless, the key characteristic of altruism is prioritizing the interests of others over one’s own.
