Apoplexy – this term was used in medical vocabulary, but over time it became outdated and gave way to more modern and precise terms. Apoplexy was usually associated with strokes or hemorrhage in the brain, which led to impairment of its functions.
Modern medicine uses more precise terms and classifications to describe such conditions, such as ischemic stroke (associated with blockage of blood vessels, leading to insufficient blood supply to the brain) and hemorrhagic stroke (associated with bleeding in the brain). These terms describe the nature and mechanisms of impaired brain function more accurately.
