Authoritarian personality – is a psychological construct reflecting the complex interaction of cognitive, emotional, and sociopolitical factors in personality structure, manifested in pronounced traits of rigid thinking, resistance to change, a tendency toward domination and suppression of others, as well as high sensitivity to fears and threats associated with uncertainty and sociocultural diversity, which may be expressed in authoritarian social and political attitudes, conformity, and prejudice. This construct is studied to understand its influence on an individual’s behavior and views in the context of social and political processes.
