Upbringing

Upbringing (англ. Upbringing, education) – is a complex and multilevel process of personal development and socialization that includes the transmission of knowledge and the formation of moral values, social rules, and skills. Upbringing covers different aspects of human development: intellectual, moral, social, physical, and emotional.

In the process of upbringing, a key role is played not only by formal instruction in educational institutions, but also by informal learning in the family environment and society. It includes fostering unique personal qualities, encouraging independence, as well as developing communicative and socio-emotional skills.

This process is also aimed at preparing the individual for active life in society, developing critical thinking, independence in decision-making, and the capacity for ethical behavior. Upbringing is an interaction in which the active participation of children and adolescents is important, as they contribute their own ideas, interests, and talents.
