Empathy

Empathy (English: empathy) – is the ability to understand and feel another person's feelings, thoughts, and emotional state, while maintaining awareness that these experiences belong to another individual. Empathy includes both a cognitive component - the ability to understand another person's perspective, and an affective component - the ability to share their emotions.

In psychology, empathy is considered an important element of interpersonal interaction and communication, contributing to the development of deep and meaningful relationships. It plays a key role in the development of social skills such as helping, comforting, and cooperation.

Examples of empathy may include comforting a friend in grief, understanding a colleague's feelings under stress, or effectively resolving conflicts through understanding another person's point of view.
