Deceitfulness – is a form of behavior in which a person consciously distorts facts or conceals information to achieve certain goals or avoid undesirable consequences. It can be expressed both in words – when a person tells an untruth, and in nonverbal actions – through gestures, facial expressions, or overall behavior.
Deceitfulness can be driven by different motives. For example, a person may lie out of fear of punishment, to hide their mistakes or dishonest actions. They may also lie to attract the attention of others, receive praise, or protect their self-esteem.
