Impulsivity

Impulsivity (англ. Impulsivity) – is a characteristic of behavior in which a person tends toward quick, spontaneous reactions without prior consideration of the consequences. Impulsive people often act under the influence of the current moment or emotions, without devoting enough time to analyzing the situation or planning.

Impulsive behavior can manifest in various forms, such as spontaneous purchases, sudden changes of plans, rapid decision-making, or thoughtless actions in social interactions. Although impulsivity can sometimes lead to positive outcomes, for example in the case of creative solutions or rapid responses in critical situations, more often it can have negative consequences, including problems in relationships, financial losses, or risky behavior.

Impulsivity is associated with various psychological aspects, including self-control, emotion regulation, and cognitive processes. In some cases, elevated impulsivity may be a sign of psychological disorders, such as mood disorders, addictive behavior, or attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
