Introjection

Introjection is a psychological process through which a person internally accepts and assimilates the ideas, values, behavioral norms, or feelings of others, without always being aware of the process. This psychological defense mechanism can serve as a way to support and modify one's own sense of self.

Introjection often influences the development of self-esteem and worldview, allowing a person to adapt to the social environment and adjust their behavior in line with accepted standards and expectations. However, if the internalized structures or values conflict with personal beliefs and goals, this can lead to internal conflicts and psychological tension.
