Nervous system — is a complex biological network involved in controlling and coordinating the body's activity, providing mechanisms for the body's interaction with the environment and for regulating internal processes. It is divided into central and peripheral subsystems, which work synchronously to process information and respond to stimuli.
The central subsystem, consisting of the brain and spinal cord, serves as the control center. In turn, the peripheral subsystem includes many nerves running throughout the body, connecting the central subsystem with the rest of the body. This complex organ system provides a wide range of functions, such as processing sensory information, controlling motor activity, regulating physiological functions, and generating cognitive and emotional responses.
