Paradigm

The term «paradigm» has several meanings in different contexts:

  1. Paradigm in linguistics refers to the system of forms of the same word. This may include noun declensions or verb conjugations. For example, in Russian, noun cases (genitive, dative, accusative, etc.) make up their paradigm.

  2. The concept of a paradigm can also be used in the context of an example or model for proving or comparing something. For example, in research and discussions, a paradigm may be given to illustrate a particular idea or concept.

  3. Scientific concept and methodology: In the works of Thomas Kuhn and in the context of the philosophy of science, a paradigm represents a broader scientific concept that is recognized in a given field as basic, leading, and normative. This means that scientists working within this paradigm share certain views, methodologies, and principles. When a paradigm shifts, this can lead to changes in fundamental views in that field of science.

  4. In the context of Western literature: In the literature, the concept of a paradigm may be used as a synonym for a «method» or a «task». For example, P. Sternberg's research or crossword tasks.

The term «paradigm» has different meanings across disciplines and contexts, but in the general sense it is associated with a system or model that is used for proof, comparison, or as a basis for certain views or methodology.
