Pathopsychology

Pathopsychology (English: Pathopsychology) is a branch of psychology that studies mental disorders and abnormalities. Pathopsychology focuses on pathological changes in mental processes and states, including thinking, perception, emotions, and behavior. The goal of this field is to understand the causes, mechanisms, and manifestations of psychopathology, as well as to develop methods of diagnosis and treatment.

This branch of psychology is closely related to psychiatry and clinical psychology, but it has its own specificity in its understanding of and approaches to the study of mental disorders. Pathopsychology analyzes how mental disorders affect a person's thoughts, feelings, and behavior, examines the causes of their emergence, and seeks ways of correction.

The main topics studied in pathopsychology include disturbances of attention, memory, thinking, and emotions, as well as pathological changes in perception and consciousness. This field helps explain how various psychological, biological, and social factors can influence the development and course of mental disorders.
