Schizoid type

Schizoid type of character accentuation, according to G. A. Lichko’s classification, describes people with a number of features in behavior and perception of the world. Here are some characteristics of this type:

  1. Reservedness and detachment: People of this type tend toward isolation and prefer to spend more time in their own inner reality than in social contact. They may seem detached and distant.

  2. Original thinking: Schizoid types often show originality in their ideas and may have unique, nonconformist thinking. They are interested in abstract and philosophical topics.

  3. Difficulties with emotional contact: Schizoid people may experience difficulties in establishing and maintaining emotional contact with others. They may seem indifferent to communication and emotionally distant.

  4. Focus on the inner world: Schizoid types may be deeply absorbed in their inner world, fantasies, and reflections. They often prefer reflection to everyday concerns.

  5. Intellectuality: These people often have a high level of intelligence and may have a rich inner world and a wide range of interests.

  6. Persistence in achieving goals: Schizoid types can be persistent and consistent in pursuing their goals, especially if they see meaning and interest in them.

The schizoid type of character accentuation can have both positive and negative sides. For example, original thinking can lead to innovative ideas, but difficulties in forming social connections can create problems in communication with others.
