Stress (in psychology) is the body's response to negative or anxiety-provoking stressors, expressed as increased tension and adaptive changes in physiology and behavior aimed at coping with those stressors. This response may include physiological changes, emotional reactions, and cognitive adaptations aimed at restoring balance and adapting to the situation.
