Inappropriate affect

Inappropriate affect is a state in which a person's emotional response or expression is considered disproportionate to or inconsistent with a particular situation or the stimulus that triggers the response. This deviation in emotional expression may be associated with psychological or psychopathological factors that can alter a person's perception of and response to the world around them.
