Visual agnosia is a cognitive impairment in which a person cannot visually recognize objects despite having no problems with vision. This condition may arise because of brain damage and is usually associated with the left parietal lobe or the temporal lobes. Visual agnosia is divided into apperceptive types (difficulties with object categorization) and associative types (inability to name objects).
