Biological clock

Biological clock is the system that governs regular changes in physiology and behavior, including the sleep–wake cycle, hormone secretion, and metabolism. The biological clock aligns the body's internal processes with external natural rhythms.

In psychology, researchers study how the biological clock affects our mental state and behavior. For example, disruptions in this clock caused by an improper sleep schedule or prolonged artificial lighting can lead to sleep disorders, emotional lability, and reduced cognitive activity.
